My Love Life

Let's get personal, shall we? I went to a wedding this weekend and the conversation at the reception turned to relationships and dating. After some jokes and general ribbing I was asked about my "love life." So here is an update on love in my life.

I love family, friends, good health, school, soccer, laughter, sleeping, quietness, the country, the city, books, used books, church, music, bananas, cereal, reunions, comebacks, free music, shared meals, Denison Witmer, Mr. Potato Head, worship, dreams, suspenders, concerts, conversation, bicycles, monkeys, pens that write smooth, brown sweaters, the smell of rain, running, sports, God, photography, my blanket on my bed, big trees with lots of leaves, jokes, stories, light blue tuxedos, hiking, talcum powder, Mom's Sunday roast, comics, caramel candy, Necco wafers, traveling, phone calls from friends and family, Sleeping at Last, warm showers, drinking water, good music, long yawns, candles, Sunday afternoon naps, orchestras, plays, gardens, the Pittsburgh Pirates, change, stability, good ol Baptist hymns, Scotland, fireflies, miracles, testimonies, the Bible, red circles, kids, old people, good beverages, Cool Hand Luke, memories, Jesus, Pittsburgh Steelers,

and people who read this entire list.

Hi, long story: a long time ago someone from this blog link visited my blog and left a comment. I was just browsing through old comments and noticed it again, and I clicked through the links, ended up here, and just wanted to say cool blog, and I like this post a lot.

I read the whole list. You should check out stuffwhitepeoplelike.com to see what else to add. I'm sure you would appreciate some of those things.

I applaud you! If you don't truly know yourself, it makes it that much harder to find the perfect person for you anyway. And remember that God is the ultimate source of contentment. Nothing else can fill the God-shaped hole in your heart.

Andy, you put me in a tough situation. You fall into friends, memories, laughter, traveling, good beverages, conversation and naps. (Ok I lied about the last one). So I even though you just skimmed you get put in the love list by majority. Aren't you glad I'm such a good democratic American?

Thanks for the comment. The random connections of the internet are great for sharing ideas and thoughts. Let me know if you have a blog I can check out.

Eric,

Are you saying I am white? Next you are going to say that I like soccer, indie music, and shopping locally.

P.S. Sorry about the Cubs (that is real empathy, not sarcasm like above!)

tales,

I couldn't agree more. God is ultimate source of companionship and the ultimate companion. But if you know of any good girls feel free to speak well of me! haha

I'm with Andy, as I also skimmed the list.

But I also love pens that write smooth(ly). It's part of my writing neurosis.

I use ut-pictura-poesis.blogspot.com to post poetry (mostly by others, a few of mine) and my regular blog is www.xanga.com/englisher.

Mike, I really like this post. And I totally read the whole list (take THAT Andy and Dan :p)

P.S. The above post from "red circles" was really from me, i just thought red circles was a funny thing to have on the list (and I secretly want it to be my new nickname...just kidding...but seriously...hahaha)

props my friend...I think you summed up life pretty well there.

There was a Lucent Technology commercial about 5 years ago. In the commercial a guy draws a red circle and I remember liking the design. Also, an interesting fact that the Lucent Technology Headquarters are just down the road from the Seminary.

Rick, I think Red Circles should be your new band name

Josh, from what I hear you love Mexico. Holler! (I don't know how to write "holler" in Spanish, I could ask Lugo)

Mike...I wore a blue tux at my wedding. Does that make me dumb or dumber???? Dad

1. Rick is a jerk. Just because he reads he thinks he's a better friend... I don't care if it is true.

2. I have no idea how to say "holler" in Spanish, but if you transliterate, it would sound like "oy-EHR".

3. I think my dad also wore a blue tux for his wedding. Maybe we have the same dad!

Wow, as soon as you say love life, everyone responds. I guess that's a way to get people to read your blog.

Brown sweaters??

Dad, the best image of I have of blue tuxedos is your wedding photo. You are rocking the Beatles hairdo and the cowboy moustache!

Dan, I don't think we have the same Dad, but that might explain the fact that we both have "pen neurosis."

Anonymous, I just like brown sweaters...and I don't have one. Hmmm...sounds like a shopping trip...now why didn't I put shopping on my list?
